The Art Academy offers a unique approach to art education. We have built a reputation for teaching technical skills, encouraging and enabling creative vision and taking care of all who join our vibrant and welcoming community. From longer, academic courses for people serious about developing their artistic practice and becoming professional artists to short evening and weekend courses, we offer the best quality art tuition to support your development.
We believe the best way to learn is from experts, so our classes are taught by highly skilled, practising artists, including prize-winners, members of leading art organisations and artists with work in national collections. Furthermore, we keep our class sizes small, so that everyone gets a hands-on experience. Our specialist long-term courses include a three year BA Hons in Fine Art*, a two year Foundation Degree* in Fine Art, Contemporary Portraiture or Sculpture, a two year Certificate Programme and a one year Fine Art Foundation.
We’re also delighted to announce that we have secured funding this year to create bursaries for all first year students joining our BA (Hons) in Fine Art and our Foundation Degree in Fine Art, Contemporary Portraiture or Sculpture in September 2018. The 20% bursary will reduce our fees to £6,600, down from £8,250 – significantly below national levels for degree courses. Every first year student joining these courses in September 2018 will receive the bursary for the duration of their programme. Furthermore, we have additional bursaries of 30% upwards available to students, assessed on need.
