- Plaster Sculpture Workshop£170.00Course CodeWC2003033TutorAnthony WatersCourse DatesSaturdays, 22nd & 29th May 2021Days2Times10.15am - 4.15pmExperience LevelBeginnerFee£170LocationArt Academy London, 165A Mermaid Court, SE1 1HR
This 2-Saturdays course gives students the opportunity to crate a plaster sculpture or to continue on with sculpture projects begun in earlier introductory courses such as the Monday and Sunday Mix classes but it can also be taken as a self-contained workshop. We will be further exploring the possibilities of plaster as a versatile sculptural material – principally through building onto wire structures and also working subtractively by carving and filing from a solid piece.
We will introduce ways to colour and finish the plaster through various means such as paints, varnishes and wax. Students may either develop artworks based on defined ideas/visuals or use the space to experiment with more abstract, intuitive or expressive approaches. In this way it could give those whose main focus has been on 2D work a chance to bring this into the 3D realm.
