Annette Bugansky

Annette Bugansky is an award winning British ceramic designer who produces fresh yet timeless collections of contemporary vessels, lighting and wall art, starting from her own textile structures. Her vessels bring together ceramics with traditional clothes pattern drafting techniques and her own experimental stitch, crochet and embroidery, resulting in sensual tactile surface patterns on her otherwise minimal contemporary pieces. Annette is inspired by growing up in Soho near Berwick Street, famed for its rag trade: the texture in nubbly linens or smooth silks; London brickwork and the bark of its Lime trees; the glow of natural light highlighting decorative iron stairways and bouncing off rooftops; twinkling stars and of course, elegant clothes. Her interest in the passing on of traditional techniques, along with types of joining, connecting, entwining and geometric pattern runs through the work she creates. Annette has shown her work all over the world and has been featured in many books and magazines.
