Our Young Artists course has been specifically designed to help 15-17 year olds boost their GCSE and A-Level portfolios with new media. Over the course of the four day programme, running during half term (18th-22nd February 2020), students will learn the various techniques of embroidery, appliqué, cross stitch and latex.
Students will also be tutored on some of the important art history that has gone in-hand with the techniques, which challenged the way that they are perceived in society. Attendees will learn how textiles can be used as a contemporary art form, despite not having been traditionally seen as one. This will be an excellent opportunity for students to expand their portfolios into new realms which they might not have access to at school.
