Emma Cousin was born in Yorkshire, 1986, and now lives and works in London. Exhibitions 2019 include: Jerwood Visual Arts Space in London; The Baltic Newcastle; Bluecoats Liverpool; G39 Cardiff; J.Hammond Projects London; The Ruth Bochard Self Portrait Prize, Piano Nobile Gallery London; APT Gallery London. Solo shows 2018/19 include: Milton Keynes Art Centre; Dolph Projects, Tintype Gallery Lewisham Arthouse Gallery and Edel Assanti Gallery in London.
Emma is also a visiting lecturer at Sotheby’s and regularly leads workshops on movement, the body, drawing and painting. Emma graduated from Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, University of Oxford in 2007 in 2007, and has studied Illustration at Chelsea School of Art and Poetry with the Poetry Society. She continues to study contemporary dance at Laban Trinity Dance, London. Emma was selected for the Skowhegan Residency 2018.
