This popular five-week course is ideal for beginners or repeat attendees. You’ll concentrate on aquatint (tonal etching) in its various forms. You’ll develop a composition through line and tone by multi-etching a zinc plate in a mordant of saline sulphate. This course is flexible, allowing you to work at your own speed – and if you’ve attended this course before, you can work on your own individual etching projects. The course fee covers materials including two zink etching plates.
Open Access runs on Wednesday evening and Saturday during the day, giving you the opportunity to further develop your printmaking skills. There is a maximum of ten students per course guided by one to one tutoring from Katherine Jones, acclaimed printmaker with over fifteen years printmaking experience.
The studio is a low-toxic environment with dedicated printmaking facilities for professional hands-on learning. Students benefit from the diversity of attendees, taught by internationally renowned printmaking artists at a central location, offering a unique educational experience in London.
