Each week you will study a section of the human body, looking at bone and muscle structures in particular. The aim is that you will gain the knowledge that will allow you to question and assess the way you draw the human figure from life and examine your drawings in relation to your understanding of anatomy. Each day will begin with a study of specific parts of human anatomy, starting with the skeleton and then working through the muscles that define the surface appearance of the body. There will be a directed drawing session and anatomy lecture in the morning focusing on specific parts of the skeleton or musculature. This study will be complemented by looking at photos, diagrams and images of works of art that highlight the part of the anatomy studied that day. After lunch students will draw from the life model for the rest of the day. Poses will be set to show the aspects of the human anatomy discussed in the morning.
