Like so many arts charities, AAL is experiencing unprecedented challenges due to Covid-19. As a central London art school, the decreased footfall (currently at 40% of normal) and the social distancing required in the studios has hugely affected the numbers normally attending our public courses. We now need to expand our online course offering, at speed, to enable survival.
In January 2021, we want to launch the platform starting with our most popular courses, including:
- Drawing For Beginners,
- Introduction To Oil Painting,
- Portrait Painting,
- Developing Drawing, as well as,
- building a Young Artist Programme.
We would then widen our offer to include lessons for community benefit these would include:
- Offering a professional development course for teachers.
- An online graduate programme.
- A schools package for teachers to support their teachers
During lockdown the Academy team have developed a new platform which gives online access to lessons including films, images and exercises from our incredibly popular courses. We have a team of highly experienced artists with the teaching skills and course writing expertise to help develop an amazing online experience.
What we are aksing for
Each Online Course will cost £3000 to digitise.
- £500 course development
- £1,500 filming and editing
- £500 digital programming & hosting
- £500 Academy core cost
Total investment needed to launch 15 courses: £45,000
