Volunteering & Internships
We are currently looking for a volunteer for 6 weeks from May 2017 to help our Office Team administrate this summer’s Graduate’s show. Tasks will be varied and may include anything from general administration (data inputting/certificate collation) to assisting with event preparation and logistics. No day will be the same and you’ll be involved in every aspect of the Graduate show. No experience is necessary but if you are familiar with Mac computers and Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator that would be an advantage.
The Art Academy is a friendly place to volunteer in, with wonderful tutors and a small office that will make you feel at home and needed. A volunteer will have the opportunity to learn valuable transferable skills and get a good reference. You’ll be able to give something back to the community, and volunteering here may help you decide on your future career choices, particularly if you are thinking of joining a College or beginning work in administration.
Volunteers from the EU will also get a valuable chance to develop their English fluency in a work context. London itself is a very vibrant city, with a fantastically social night-life, a peerless shopping scene, and a wonderful host of places to go and things to see, such as museums, monuments, libraries and galleries.
We are particularly interested in those who wish to volunteer for a period of two months or longer and at the moment we would ideally like someone from May until July.
We can only accept volunteers who are over 18 and are from the EU or who already have a visa to stay in the UK. You may choose your own volunteering hours – for example: weekdays between 10:00 and 16:00, or something shorter, and we can offer travel expenses up to £15 each day. Unfortunately we can’t provide accommodation, but if you call our office we can answer any of your questions about local hostels or public transport.
We hope you’ll find this a rewarding experience and look forward to hearing from you.
