Sarah Bryant, who operates under the name Big Jump Press, designs and produces letterpress-printed artist’s books in editions ranging in size from ten to one hundred copies. Her work can be found in dozens of collections including The Yale Arts Library, The Houghton Library at Harvard University, The New York Public Library and The Darling Bio-medical Library at UCLA. Sarah received her Masters degree from the University of Alabama MFA in the Book Arts Program in 2008.
Big Jump Press books incorporate analytical imagery, reference material, and innovative binding structures. They use diagrammatic language, such as the periodic table, population data sets, and cutaway cross sections, to set up complex investigations of more human themes.
Bryant has taught bookbinding and letterpress printing courses for a number of universities in the United States, her country of origin. She currently lives in Hove and teaches workshops and short courses in the south of England.
