Relief Printing: Multiplate Woodcut

Course Fee: £150

This popular course is ideal for beginners or repeat attendees. In Relief Printmaking Part 2, students will be carving Japanese plywood plates to create a multi-plate print edition. Relief printing focuses on form and texture; you will learn to combine the tone, hue and saturation of multiple colours to achieve an edition of prints on archival Italian paper. The course fee covers materials including a set of Japanese woodcut tools if you sign up to the full ten weeks in order to continue working on the plates outside of teaching hours.
Open Access runs on Thursday evening and Saturday during the day, giving you the opportunity to further develop your printmaking skills.
There is a maximum of ten students per course guided by one to one tutoring from experienced printmaker Theo Ereira-Guyer.
The studio is a low-​toxic environment with dedicated printmaking facilities for professional hands-on learning. Students benefit from the diversity of attendees, taught by internationally renowned printmaking artists at a central location, offering a unique educational experience in London.

Etching: Hard Ground to Aquatint

Experience Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Course Fee: £150

This popular course is ideal for beginners or repeat attendees. You will develop a composition through line, texture and tone by multi-etching a zinc plate in a mordant of saline sulphate. This five week course concentrates on hard ground combined with soft ground. There is also time to experiment with à la poupée​and viscosity relief rolling to achieve a multi-colour etching on Italian archival paper. The course fee covers materials including an etching needle for attendees to continue working on the plate outside of teaching hours.
Open Access runs on Thursday evening and Saturday during the day, giving you the opportunity to further develop your printmaking skills. There is a maximum of ten students per course guided by one to one tutoring from our acclaimed printmakers.
