The aim of this course is to introduce students to Photoshop and provide an overview of the key features of the software. Our experienced tutor will guide you step by step through the basics of Photoshop including Layers, Masks, Colour Balancing and Flaw Correction. Students will learn how to edit and create a variety of imagery through a series of practical workshops designed to build a greater understanding of the program. This course will give students the confidence to add those finishing touches to their photographs and optomise digital images for different purposes.

Building on previous practical experience or an introductory Photoshop course, students will expand and develop their understanding of this powerful software. Our experienced tutor will cover basic principles in more depth and improve your knowledge and ability in a variety of the different tools and techniques that Photoshop has to offer. Through a series of practical workshops you will learn workflows and image handling that will allow you to operate this program in a more expansive and professional manner.

Digital Photography for Beginners

This course teaches students with their own digital SLR or bridge camera how to properly use it, our experienced tutor will guide you step by step through the functions on your individual camera model. Students will learn about Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, File types and everything else you need to get a quality exposure in a variety of environments. The artistic language of photography will be explored through themes such as composition, lighting and portraiture. The course will finish with postproduction, translating an image of your choice into a final print to take home.
